Online Extension Learner Facilitator course 2023
This online extension learner facilitator course has been created for all working and trained learner facilitators and tutors. This is an extension course; building on, expanding and extending your already acquired, learned and existing skills, through learner facilitation and tutor training or functioning and working as a learner facilitator or tutor for a period of time. This extension course is open to anyone who would like to develop and expand their knowledge and skills with regards to learner facilitation and tutoring. This course does endeavour to give you more and broader skills, knowledge and confidence as a learner facilitator and/or tutor.
It is recommended and preferred that candidates have some experience or training as a learner facilitator and/or tutor. This extension course assumes some level of knowledge and experience. It does not teach or start with the basics. That's what the Learner Facilitator course 1 is all about. The Learner Facilitator course 1 is a solid, strong and empowering start to a career in learner facilitation. We suggest individuals first complete the Learner Facilitator course 1, before doing this extension course. It makes better sense.
See below starting dates for the Online Extension Learner Course. It consists of weekly assignments for 12 weeks in the form of videos, notes and questions. The question section needs to be completed and returned within a week. No late submissions will be accepted.
Course fees are R 3 600.00

- If payment is not received within 7 days after the due date, the student/delegate will forfeit all previous payments made and their participation in the online Extension Learner Facilitation course will cease.
- The course is online and it is therefore assumed that delegates have access to computers and/or smart phones to access, complete and submit assignments.
- You only need to forward/email your Answers. An answer sheet will be attached. Sometimes there is an added TRUE & FALSE answer sheet and diagram to complete as well. We don't set it up for you in a specific format because there are different devices, systems and formats, so it might not come out correct or scrambled on your side. Assignments are in WORD format/program, so should be accessible on all devices. If not, then you may just put your answers in the main section of the email. Make sure you use the right number for your answer and write your name on top.
- Weekly assignments are send out on a Tuesdays and MUST be submitted the following Tuesday by 5 pm. No exceptions! Late submissions will not be received, processed or marked. They will therefore be scored as a zero and calculated as part of the average.
- You will receive a receipt email – e.g. Thank you Assignment 1 Answers received - when we've received your answers email. If you don't receive such an email, you have until 9 pm on that particular Tuesday to let us know. Thereafter it will be considered a non submission.
- We do want answers in your own words and by your understanding and not copy and pasting answers from the notes or other sources. You'll be asked for your thoughts and perceptions about certain things quite often. We want you to think and give us your opinion, whatever your background and experience in this field may be. It can't be wrong, it's your opinion and perception and has value and is valid. This is not to judge but get you to think about what you are doing as a learner facilitator or tutor. Be creative and trust your intuition, instincts and sense about things and what makes sense to you. You are interested in this field because this is where your interests, compassion and heart lie. Your intuition and instincts will most of the time be accurate. Go for it!
- The points allocated for each question indicate the number of facts / points / answers that are required.
- DO NOT copy and paste answers. You will only receive HALF the marks allocated.
- To receive your course certificate, you should submit ALL your assignments and the assessment in time. No Exceptions! An average score of 50% or more for ALL the assignments and the assessment is required to receive the certificate.
- You will receive a letter of participation and completion at the end of the course, together with a short report stating your marks you received for the assignments submitted in time and general evaluations and suggestions.
- You are welcome to participate without being graded/marked if you so choose. However, in such cases there will be no certificate, only a letter of participation and completion.
Some people are not always able to see all the pictures, diagrams and visuals. It might be due to incompatibility between computers, or that your computer and/or Word program is older than the one being used. Download the email / file / attachment on your smart phone - You'll be able to see and access it there. Problem solved.
Please do not copy and paste your answers from the notes or other material. Please use your own words. I would like to see if you understand the the content and not if you can find the answer in the content. I'm interested in your perceptions and answers. You'll only score half the marks for copying and pasting, because it's not your own words and work.

PLEASE NOTE : The points allocated for each question indicate the number of facts/points/answers that are required.
PLEASE BE PATIENT with regards to inquiry email responses. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
A REMINDER : PLEASE use the marks allocated e.g (15) as indication of how many facts (15) you should include in your answer. That's how all schools, colleges, universities and technikons work. When 15 marks are allocated, 5 points or less are not sufficient. We have started including more practical questions and parts to the assignments like the case studies, as that is what you'll be doing or do as a learner facilitator and tutor. Please put in a little more effort and thought in these as this is or will be, your work/career. A question that is scored out of 15 point require AT LEAST 15 points.
